What the duplicate word finder detects
A repeated word can be an obvious typing mistake, a speech restart, or a word that appears too often across a longer draft. The two detection modes separate those problems.
Consecutive duplicate words
Find direct repeats such as “the the,” “I I,” and “confirm confirm,” even when punctuation appears between the copies.
Repeated restart phrases
Catch short phrases that restart immediately, such as “I think I think” or “we need to we need to.”
Overused words
Count words used repeatedly across the full text and adjust the minimum length and occurrence threshold.
Case-aware matches
Treat “Text” and “text” as the same word by default, or enable case-sensitive analysis when capitalization matters.
Multilingual text
Analyze Unicode text while preserving paragraphs, punctuation, right-to-left scripts, and Persian half-spaces.
Protected technical content
Skip common URLs, email addresses, inline code, and code blocks so technical strings are not accidentally edited.
How to find duplicate words online
Use Accidental repeats for likely mistakes and speech restarts. Use Repeated words to inspect vocabulary that appears frequently throughout a draft.
Add your text
Type, paste, or load the sample. The tool supports multiple paragraphs and up to 5,000 characters per check.
Choose a detection mode
Find immediate word and phrase repeats, or adjust thresholds for repeated words across the entire text.
Review and remove
Inspect highlighted matches, select only the accidental repeats, and copy the cleaned plain text.
See how selective duplicate removal works
The finder does not silently rewrite the paragraph. It flags likely repeats and lets the user decide what should be removed.
I I wanted to share an update. We need to we need to review the mobile version and confirm confirm the launch date.

Only selected accidental repeats are removed. The remaining wording, punctuation, and paragraph structure stay intact.
Duplicate word finder for speech-to-text
Spoken language contains restarts, hesitation, and repeated fragments. A raw transcript may preserve those repetitions even when the intended sentence is clear.
- Find immediate repeats produced by dictation, meetings, interviews, and voice notes.
- Detect short repeated phrases instead of checking only one word at a time.
- Keep intentional emphasis by reviewing each match before removal.
Who can use a duplicate word checker?
Any draft can contain an accidental repeat, but the cause and the right correction depend on how the text was created.

Catch duplicated words before publishing articles, scripts, newsletters, or manuscripts.
Check essays, assignments, reports, and research notes for obvious repetition mistakes.
Clean up emails, reports, proposals, meeting notes, and internal messages.

Duplicate word finder vs. duplicate word remover
A finder is safer for normal writing because repetition can be intentional. A remover is better for controlled lists or clearly duplicated entries.
Repetition can be intentional in quotations, dialogue, poetry, slogans, emphasis, product names, and technical text. Review the highlighted context before removing a match.

Frequently asked questions
Direct answers about repeated words, phrase detection, selective removal, multilingual text, and privacy.
What is a duplicate word finder?
A duplicate word finder scans text for words that appear more than once. This tool has one mode for immediate accidental repeats and another mode for words repeated across the complete text.
Can it find repeated phrases such as “I think I think”?
Yes. Accidental repeats mode checks consecutive sequences of two to four words, so it can flag short speech restarts as well as single duplicated words.
Does the tool remove every repeated word automatically?
No. In Accidental repeats mode, it highlights likely duplicates and lets you select which repeated copies should be removed. The original input remains available until you replace it with the cleaned text.
What is the difference between accidental repeats and repeated words?
Accidental repeats finds consecutive duplicates such as “the the” and immediate phrase restarts. Repeated words counts vocabulary used several times throughout the entire text.
Does capitalization affect duplicate detection?
By default, words with different capitalization are matched using Unicode-aware casing rules. Enable Match capitalization exactly when uppercase and lowercase forms should count as different words.
Can it check Persian, Arabic, and other languages?
Yes. Auto-detect uses locale-aware word segmentation and normalizes common Persian and Arabic keyboard variants. Dedicated rules are also available for Turkish, German, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai. Accent and diacritic matching remains optional to reduce false positives.
Is my text uploaded or saved?
No. The duplicate analysis and selective removal run inside the browser. The tool does not send the submitted text through an API, postMessage event, analytics event, local storage, or database.
